Map Adoption Milestones for Digital Flood Insurance Rate Map (DFIRM) for Jackson County, Mississippi and Incorporated Areas

March 16, 2009 — Final DFIRM and Flood Insurance Study report effective; new flood insurance requirements in effect

October - March 2009 — Final DFIRM and updated floodplain management ordinances adopted by all communities and approved by FEMA Regional Office

September 16, 2008 — Letters of Final Determination issued to Chief Executive Officers in Jackson County, Gautier, Moss Point, Ocean Springs, and Pascagoula; Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) finalized

August - September 2008 — Community review of FEMA resolution, including community coordination of final comments with FEMA and State, completed

August 2008 — Resolution of comments from Pascagoula, including coordination with community officials, completed
